International medical guide for ships 3rd and 2rd etition

The International Medical Guide for Ships(WHO 3ed), published by the WHO and is used by vessels which fare under a flag states that do not have national requirements for medicines and medical supplies for the ship’s hospital/medical chest or local regulations who refer to the WHO 3ed as the regulation of choose for vessels fairing under their flag state. Ship-owners or captains can also choose to ignore the national flag states and choose the WHO 3ed as there regulation, because the WHO is used and recognized  globally and its easier to get supplies.

The WHO Medical Guide for Ships was first published in 1967 and has been widely used in the maritime world. The second edition, written in 1988 was replaced by the third edition in 2007 which is the current edition used for the ship hospital.
